Store Impact from Shopper Intelligence
Our purpose at Shopper Intelligence is to improve the shopping experience for shoppers and help retailers like Woolworths and Coles and their suppliers improve stores to achieve this.
One of the ways we do this is through Store Impact, where shoppers are invited to wear camera glasses as they shop. We record their shopping experience to understand how it could be improved, including areas of the store or certain shelves that are confusing and difficult to shop. These camera glasses may record other shoppers in the store since the glasses will record everything a shopper sees.
Ensuring the privacy of shoppers is extremely important to us – for all shoppers in store, not just those that took part in the research. The video footage generated by the camera glasses will be securely retained by Shopper Intelligence Australia at its offices and only authorised Shopper Intelligence employees will be permitted to access the videos. Any footage released to retailers or other third parties will have any faces or other identifying features of shoppers “blurred out” prior to release. All videos will be kept by Shopper Intelligence only for as long as there is a need for Shopper Intelligence to retain the videos, and in any event for no more than 3 years, when they will be permanently deleted.
Shopper Intelligence Australia is bound by the Australian Market and Social Research Society Limited (AMSRS), the industry body that protects the interest of all parties, including shoppers.
